Spanish rice for a bbq

Directions :

🔸 1. Toast the Rice

Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet or pan over medium heat.

Add the rice and cook, stirring often, until golden brown (about 6–8 minutes).

Stir in chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for another 1–2 minutes.

🔸 2. Add Tomato and Seasoning

Pour in the tomato sauce and stir until evenly coated.

Sprinkle in salt, cumin, and chili powder (if using).

🔸 3. Simmer

Add chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil.

Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low, and let simmer undisturbed for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, check that the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.

Turn off heat and let sit (covered) for another 5–10 minutes.

🔸 4. Fluff & Serve

Fluff rice with a fork. Serve hot with your favorite BBQ meats or tacos!
