Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Carne Asada:
1 lb (450g) flank steak or skirt steak
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Fries:
1 lb (450g) frozen French fries (or homemade, if preferred)
1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (for seasoning fries)
For the Guacamole:
2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
1 small tomato, diced
1/4 small red onion, finely diced
1 jalapeño, seeded and finely diced (optional)
1 tbsp lime juice
1/4 cup (10g) fresh cilantro, chopped
Salt, to taste
For Toppings:
1/2 small white onion, finely diced
1/4 cup (60ml) Mexican crema or sour cream
1/4 cup (10g) fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
