4 cups tortilla chips (homemade or store-bought)

1 1/2 cups green chile sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup diced green chiles (canned or fresh)

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

2 cups shredded cheese (a mix of cheddar and mozzarella works great)

Salt and pepper to taste

For Garnish:

Fresh cilantro (chopped)

Sour cream or Mexican crema (optional)

Sliced avocado (optional)
